Shenzhen-based Frank Wang created the company in 2006, which has its headquarters in Shenzhen, China.

The DJI Phantom 1 was the company’s first drone, and it was introduced in 2013. Many popular commercial drones, like as the Phantom series and the Mavic series, have been developed by the business. DJI also designs and builds aircraft for use in aerial photography and filmmaking.

Since then, the company has grown to employ more than 1000 employees and to have more than 1000 resellers in over 100 countries around the world.

DJI Innovations was formed by him and his associate, Frank Wang, in the year 2013.

A quadcopter called the Phantom 1 was DJI’s first product, which was released in 2014. The Phantom 2 Vision+ quadcopter, which was released in 2015, was the company’s second product. A year later, it debuted its third product, the Inspire 1 drone with a 4K camera, and the following year, it released the Spark drone for novices and the Mavic Pro, a compact drone that can be folded up and carried in a backpack or messenger bag.

Wang Tao and Zhang Zhijiang launched Djinni in 2012 as a platform for creatives. Their paths had crossed at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where they were both classmates of the two co-founders. In terms of size, it is a compact, lightweight, and foldable drone that can be transported in a backpack.

Frank Wang, an electrical engineer who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, launched the company in 2006. In frustration with the low quality of drones available on the market at the time, he set out to build his own from the ground up.

MIT undergraduate student Wang constructed his first prototype, which he named D1, in 2008, while still a student at the institute.

Dr. Wang previously worked as a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Beihang University and as a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has more than 70 papers to his credit in the fields of aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and space technology.
